92,100,000 reasons to be precise. In 2006, we paid over £92,100,000 in critical illness cover claims, bringing the total paid since 1996 to £394,000,000. With effect from 18 March 2007, we will be launching our revised range of Critical Illness Cover (CIC)contracts. We have made changes to these contracts as part of our long-term commitment to the protection market, and in response to the Association of British Insurers (ABI) new Statement of Best Practice for Critical Illness Cover (April 2006).
These changes have
allowed us to improve our product and give you more reasons to
recommend Market leading expertise According to Swiss Re's
most recent market survey, more advisers and customers now
choose
Superior products Our new range of products now covers 35 illnesses - that's 12 more than covered by the ABI guidelines. By adding three new illnesses and improving our definitions, we believe we have created a set of products, which feature the best all-round package in the market today. A package which better reflects the real life circumstances of your clients too.
Competitive pricing Our well-known value for money policy means that our quotes are highly competitive. And, as a matter of course, we review our pricing in the IFA market every single week. This is because we know that recommending a product isn't just about having the right benefit package, but it's about affordability and price competitiveness too.
Service with speed Our online submission and award-winning interactive underwriting systems regularly accept over 55% of lives immediately at point of sale. Even where we need more information, we typically issue terms on almost 70% of cases within two days. But systems are only one part of the picture - if you need help with individual cases, our experienced teams are on hand to advise you. For full details of our changes, click here for the new Guide to Critical Illness Cover.
While
we have updated all affected literature to reflect the new critical
illnesses and definitions, some items will not be available for order
until 30 March 2007. However electronic copies of the updated literature
together with our CIC voice-over presentation and new items can be
downloaded from Click here for a list of the new literature. It is very important that only the new items are used from 18 March 2007 and that any previous literature referring to CIC prior to these changes is destroyed. Pipeline and transitional arrangements For information on your pipeline arrangement, please contact your usual service team. As always, we will honour pipeline business by providing full transitional arrangements for the products affected by the changes. For full information on these arrangements, click here.
