As an integral part of Legal & General’s commitment to the protection market, we are pleased to announce the release of an exciting new range of Business Protection literature. The new literature provides simple to use tools to promote the importance of Business Protection to your clients and make the most of a significant opportunity in the marketplace.

Although currently Business Protection is unable to be submitted via Online Protection (OLP) and continues to be paper application submission, we are pleased to confirm that:
We will honour ‘e’ rates and ‘e’ commission for all new Business Protection applications received at our service departments with effect from Monday 1 October 2007*. So when next quoting for Business Protection remember to quote Legal & Generals 'e' rate. Simply complete and send in the paper application to your usual service team and they will automatically apply the 'e' rates and 'e' commission.

The opportunity
Research conducted by Legal & General indicated that in 2005 approximately 70% of small to medium businesses had no key person protection in place and would be adversely affected by the loss of a key person or shareholder.

Legal & General’s solution
To address the opportunity this presents for you, Legal & General has developed a comprehensive new suite of support and core literature, which includes research and market opportunites, technical and taxation information together with lead generation letters and presentations covering three principle areas:

Key Person Protection - protecting the business against the loss of a key employee to death or critical illness
Partner’s/Director’s Share Protection - on the death or critical illness of a partner/director the remaining partners are able to purchase the shares of the deceased/critically ill partner
Business Loan Protection - helps the business pay an outstanding overdraft, loan or commercial mortgage should the person or persons covered die or become critically ill.

All new literature has been created to simplify the promotion of Business Protection for you whilst offering peace of mind for your clients.
